AMANDA Laborete

Amanda Laborete is a cellist who thrives at the intersection of artistry, community, and impact. She has built an adventurous career that spans orchestral, chamber and genre-blurring performances, sharing the stage with artists as diverse as Yo-Yo Ma, Wu-Tang Clan, Jason Mraz, Arcade Fire, Renée Fleming and more. Amanda’s performing career includes roles with the Boulder Philharmonic, Compass Resonance and Front Range Chamber Ensemble, as well as past positions with the Colorado Symphony, Santa Fe Opera and frequent engagements with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and Albany Symphony Orchestra. As the founder of Concertvation, Amanda brings together music and conservation, using performance to spark action for wildlife and the planet. A passionate educator and advocate, she lends her time and leadership as a board member of El Sistema Colorado, grounded in her belief that music can transform lives. When she’s not performing, teaching, or dreaming up new ways to merge music and conservation, you can find Amanda outside - hiking with her dogs Arlo and Louie, cuddling with her Cat Bubu, volunteering at the zoo, or marveling at the quiet wisdom of the natural world. She believes that, much like music, nature holds stories waiting to be heard and wonders meant to be shared. Whether on stage, in the studio, or in the wild, Amanda is always listening - for the resonance between sound and story, people and place, art and a world worth protecting.
