Across Time Across Cultures is our EDUCATION AND OUTREACH SERIES.
Performances take place at schools across the State of Colorado and in libraries, museums, senior living residences, and other public and private venues.
Recent performance presentations:
Variation from Bach to The Beatles
CORE artist Keith Barnhart demonstrates 500 years of music on Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, and Romantic Era plucked instruments alongside electric guitars, offering fascinating context in some well known pop and rock songs from the 1960’s to today.
Harmonies of the Holidays
Our 2024/25 Vocal Quartet presents holiday music from several centuries and nations. Soprano Alice del Simone and baritone O’Neil Jones share stories and anecdotes about the music, including French folkloric traditions, ancient Sephardic melodies, American Christmas favorites, and new music from Jamaica.
Icelandic Echoes: a sonic journey into inner landscapes
Featuring COmpass REsonance co-directors performing as the duo Mystery Sonata. Pianist Mina Gajić and violinist Zachary Carrettin use projections to show new types of music notation, demonstrating Live on their instruments, including contemporary techniques played inside the piano and exploring harmonics on the violin and piano strings.
Resonance Through Time: baroque vs. modern instruments
Featuring five CORE artists demonstrating woodwind, bowed, and plucked instruments, this event reveals the differences in sound and playability between period instruments of the Baroque (original and replicas), vs. the instruments in today’s standard set ups, (including old and new instruments). Demonstrations include performances of solo works by J.S. Bach.

Education
Our education engagement in 2024/25 includes 20 in-school events, Kids at The Dairy, and presentations throughout Boulder County and beyond.
Please inquire if your school, library, museum, senior living residence, or other venue would benefit from a presentation by CORE artists.
