American violinist Michael Lawrence Smith is a versatile musician who has performed internationally as a soloist and served as concertmaster with ensembles like the Denver Young Artists Orchestra and Greater Boulder Youth Orchestra. He is Associate Concertmaster of the Longmont Symphony Orchestra and a member of the Boulder Bach Festival’s CORE Ensemble, contributing to their acclaimed Sono Luminus recording. A 2023 Harpa International Music Academy participant and Aspen Music Festival Fellow, Smith has studied with renowned artists including Robert Chen and members of the Takács Quartet. He is completing his undergraduate degree at Oberlin Conservatory under Sigurbjörn Bernharðsson.
